Open PhD students positions in “Intelligent Mobility Management for 6G”  – New call

We have two open positions for PhD students in the area of mobility management based on ML/AI for 6G mobile networks, one position targets mobility management aspects, the second one radio resource management and edge computing for mobile users.

The objective of the first PhD position is to develop algorithm(s) that learns and classifies statistics of the communication channel and supply this knowledge to another algorithm responsible for setting of the mobility management related parameters.

The second PhD position targets development of communication and computing resource allocation for vehicles for offloading of advanced computing tasks from autonomous vehicles to MEC servers and implementation of the solution to a small prototype of an autonomous vehicle in the lab.

The research will be carried out in the Laboratory of Mobile Networks, 6Gmobile research lab, Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.

The net income for the PhD student is approx. 1400 EUR (plus social and health insurance also covered).

The applicants should meet the following criteria:

  •  Hold M.Sc. degree in Electrical engineering, Computer science, or similar domain
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Background in wireless communications and optimization or machine learning
  • Good programming skills (MATLAB, C/C++, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with SW defined radio is a plus for the secnd PhD position position targeting MEC

Open PhD students positions in “Vehicular communication and edge computing in 6G”  – Call is closed

We have two fundend positions for PhD students in the area of radio resource management and edge computing for vehicles in 6G with focus on development of algorithms and optimization of radio and computing resource allocation in vehicular scenarios.

One position targets more basic research (theoretical development and optimization), the second one is oriented more on applied research including validation of algorithms in our lab.

The research will be carried out in the Laboratory of Mobile Networks, 6Gmobile research lab, Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.

The applicants should meet the following criteria:

  •  Hold M.Sc. degree in Electrical engineering, Computer science, or similar domain
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Background in wireless communications, optimization, and/or edge computing
  • Good programming skills (MATLAB, C/C++, Python, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and cooperate with a team of researchers
  • Knowledge of platforms for emulation of mobile networks (OAI, srsRAN, etc.) and O-RAN is a plus for the experimentally oriented position

Open postdoc position in “AI and MEC in 6G” – Candidate selected, call is closed

We have an open postdoc position in the area of AI and MEC for 6G. The postdoc is expected to carry out mainly applied research related to integration of machine learning for radio and computing resource management in 6G and validate theoretical research in our lab.

The research will be carried out in the laboratory of mobile networks – 6Gmobile research lab, Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.

The full-time contract with a competitive salary in range of 2400-2700 EUR gross per month plus bonuses will be set for 12 months with a possible extension up to 3 years.

The applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Ph.D. degree in Electrical engineering, Telecommunications, Computer science, or similar domain
  • Publications in high quality journals (IEEE Transactions, IEEE Letters, ACM journals or conferences, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

Open positions for Ukrainian Postdocs/Researchers/Engineers in 6G 

We have three open positions for Ukrainian Postdocs, Researchers, or Engineers. They can join our team and contribute to:

  • theoretical research related to radio resource and mobility management in scenarios with UAVs and/or vehicles and encompassing potentially also edge computing
  • experiments and development of prototypes and platforms for vehicular and UAV communication, edge computing, machine learning for 6G, or monitoring of QoS in 5G and beyond.

We can immediately offer a contract with flexible effort adapted according to time availability.  The length of contract is flexible and skilled and motivated candidates can be included into currently prepared project proposals with long-term perspective of position in our research lab.

Fluent English is required (in written as well as spoken form), background in Electrical engineering, Telecommunications, Computer science, or good programming skills are welcome.

Open postdoc position in “Machine learning for 6G” – Candidate selected, call is closed

We have an open postdoc position in the area of machine learning-based radio resoure management in future mobile networks. The postdoc is expected to carry our theoretical research and optionally also participate on validation in our state-of-the-art equipped lab.

The research will be carried out in the laboratory of mobile networks – 6Gmobile research lab, Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.

The full-time contract with a competitive salary and bonuses will be set from spring 2022 for 12 months with a possible extension up to 3 years depending on mutual interest and available funding.

Open PhD student position in “Mobile Caching for 6G”  – Candidates selected, call is closed

We have an open position for PhD student in the area of allocation of caching and communication resources in scenarios with vehicles (cars, drones, etc.).

The research will be carried out in the Laboratory of Mobile Networks, 6Gmobile research lab, Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.

The position is funded by a national research project for support of an international collaboration in research towards future mobile networks and the project also covers student’s internship in leading European academic and research institutions during PhD.
